I have returned from the Eastern Shore.  I had a lot of fun going sailing with the family.  Sometime I’d like to take a trip somewhere rather than just choosing random destinations on the Chesapeake.  I’m thinking maybe Florida.  It would take quite a while (the average speed on a sailboat, assuming there’s wind is about 5-6 knots), but I think it would be a lot of fun charting a course on the maps and seeing all the different places along the way.

Since I know you’re all expecting it, here it is.  Laura is home in 6 days!  I hope I can leave work early, or take off completely to go meet her at the airport in some big dramatic Hollywood-style reunion.  It’s probably not going to happen though, since the lady who hired me is currently on vacation and gets back on Thursday.  That means that she’ll call me on Thursday to tell me when I’m to be working.  Assuming work on Saturday and Sunday (they have lots of overtime at this job) that means Monday would be my third day of work at the most, which isn’t a good day to say “I can’t come in”.  Oh well, I’ll still be able to go down and visit her even if I can’t meet her at the airport.

I have discovered that the real reason we all have jobs is so we don’t die of boredom.  This is the reason that robots will never take over the world: too many people wouldn’t want to give up their jobs.  I have spent the past week sleeping in, sitting around in my pajamas, doodling around on guitar, doodling around on the computer, and wasting time in front of the TV.  I’ve had about all I can take, so I want this job to start ASAP.

Yeah, so in conclusion, I’m not doing anything ever, so call me if you want to hang out 🙂

Another day, another blog entry.

I don’t like people who treat you like trash and then expect everything to go back to normal the next day.  I don’t appreciate being treated like I’m the stupidest person on the planet, and the next day all has been forgotten.  I’m sorry if this doesn’t make sense to some people, but friends are friendly to each other, and friendships, once made, do not stay strong automatically.  There comes a time when the friendship dies and that is the time to move on.

Ok, the rant is done.  It’s tough for me to type these things, because I am a nice person and don’t like hurting feelings, but it had to be said.

On the plus side, there’s only 11 days until Laura gets home! 🙂  I haven’t seen her since I went to visit her over Spring Break in March, so it will be a very happy time for all.

I’m going to try to get out to the gym at least three times a week so I’m not so scrawny.  Having a fast metabolism is nice because I can eat whatever and however much I want to.  But it stinks being a 135 pound weakling sometimes.  Hopefully by next semester I’ll have gotten stronger and hopefully gained some weight from my massive muscles :-p

I’m going down to my parents house on the Eastern Shore for the weekend, so in case you’re wondering why I’m not around, that’s the reason.  Hopefully I start my new job when I get back.  I was supposed to get a call today with my start information, but it never came.  When I called the HR lady in charge, her voicemail said that she’s out of the office until next Thursday.  I left a message anyway, so hopefully I’ll find out soon.  Money is very tight right now, and with no income it’s not going to get any better.

As always, stay metal and make fun of posers at all costs. m/

I’m so close to getting the framework (read: not the game, just the foundation) of my Tetris game working.  It’s so frustrating when code that worked before doesn’t work after you add something completely unrelated.  Oh well, look for Tetris to be completed by the end of the summer.

Laura gets home in 12 days m/  Of course with my new job I won’t be able to see her as much as usual, but I’ll be making so much money, that it won’t even matter.  Perhaps my original Niagara Falls plans will happen after all.

If you’re looking for a laugh, check out Bal-Sagoth.  British black metal band with almost comical synth parts and vocals.

Just a short addition to my last post: If the facts of the job are correct, it will get me $2100 a month before taxes.  I can live with 12 hour days for that.

Another day, another long period of sitting until people get out of work, and then a long period of sitting with people.  Man I really need a job.

Speaking of jobs, I have an interview tomorrow at some warehouse up in Mount Joy.  Mark has reported that they offer 12 hour days, 5 days a week, for $7.50/hr.  It could be really bad, but it could also be a lot of money.  I’ll see exactly what the job will entail tomorrow.  I’m not worried about whether or not I’ll be hired, since it’s a group interview.  Yes that’s right.  It basically means that they get a whole bunch of people together and tell them what the job is, make sure they’re qualified, and then say, “you start next week.”  Oh well, 60 hours/wk at $7.50/hr is a heck of a lot better than 15 hours/wk at $6.60/hr.

Chris and I are looking to start a Megadeth cover band.  Still needed is another guitar player and a drummer.  Let me know if you know of anyone who could fit the bill.

I work tomorrow from 11-2.  What a waste of a shift.  Oh well, at least it will buy me some food.  I’m out of milk and apple juice with a whole box of cereal waiting to be eaten.

Flesh Made Sin, where every song starts with the title.

Wow, one entry for one and a half years, and now two in a row!

Greg and I jammed on some things today.  I think it went well, but Mayor of Diminishedville is a lot weirder than I remembered it.  I finally was able to play it, but there’s still no part to come after it.  We also started work on a song tentatively titled “Roses and Lightning”.  It’s a ballad of sorts.  All in all, I’m excited about the band.

I got the first of the two computer books I ordered today.  It’s called “Special Effects Game Programming with DirectX”.  It is reputed to be the best book for an introduction to DirectX stuff and also as a good book for the more advanced techniques a.k.a. special effects.  There’s a whole chapter called “Explosions”.  m/

That’s it for now.  Stay metal m/
